Huntley Barad Insurance Services, Inc. is an Independent Insurance Agency working in the areas of Employee Benefits, Health Insurance for individuals, and property and casualty coverage for individuals and businesses. In the benefits area, we provide expertise in Health, Disability, and Group Life. As brokers, we are able to offer a wide range of options from all the carriers licensed to operate in California. We are not “captive” agents, but are free to shop for the best deal for our clients.
We work hard to identify the most cost effective options in the employee benefit area. Many of our clients have taken advantage of HRA’s (also known as partially-self-funded plans. These plans save our clients in the neighborhood of 30% over comparable standard plans. This is done by combining a high deductible PPO plan with an experienced Third Party Administrator, managing an employer-funded Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). Most recently, we have been placing our clients with carriers who are “integrating” the HRA funds into the policy, eliminating the need to pay an outside 3rd party for administration, eliminating the need for faxing claims, and reimbursing the employees directly.
We are adept at fashioning multi-tiered benefit packages, with different levels of benefits for different classes of employees. We have also structured a variety of choice plans, which offer employees choices across different carriers, with many benefit options for them to choose from.
At renewal time, we make sure our clients have enough time to make an informed decision as to what their options are. If they have an HRA in place, we help them analyze the financial performance for the year, and contrast it to their choices in their renewal package, as well as what other carriers might offer.
We are in regular contact with all our clients throughout the year, performing a variety of tasks for them- enrolling and disenrolling employees, fielding claims issues, helping with COBRA issues, network issues, and everything else which comes up for employees. Our clients count on us for fast, and courteous attention to every issue.
Property & Liability Insurance
In the area of property and liability we offer a wide range of coverages for businesses, including Errors & Omissions, Product Liability, Special Events, Workers Comp, inland marine, and fleet coverage. Typical carriers we go to include Farmers Insurance Group, Hartford, Chubb, Allied, Travelers, Safeco, Firemans, AIG, Scottsdale, CNA, and others.
Life Insurance
In the Life Insurance area, we represent a huge range of carriers, for both Term and Permanent products. We help our clients understand how to protect their loved ones, and build their estates with the wise use life insurance. In addition to individual Life and Disability Insurance products, we offer Group Life and Disability for our corporate clients.
Personal Insurance
For individuals, we offer a wide array of property coverage from Farmers Insurance Group. These coverages include automobile, homeowners, renters, umbrella, and more.
Business Insurance
Lastly, we have helped many of our business clients structure voluntary benefits, which help employees fill the holes in their coverage. Our voluntary carriers cover such areas as Disability, Life, Dental, Vision, Pre-paid Legal Services, and Supplemental Health. We work closely with AFLAC, VSP, Delta, and others, and take the time to make sure each employee understands the range of choices offered to him.
Huntley Barad Insurance Services, Inc. is owned and operated by Huntley Barad and Tirzah Mutrux. The company has three producing agents, including Huntley, and three full time administrative support and financial associates, who work exclusively on managing applications, renewals, and client service. The company has offices in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco, and services clients throughout the state of California.
